•    Community is grateful to the government for the quick solution

The community of the Tablitas and César Gaviria neighborhood was surprised this morning by a group of workers of the MECO company – in charge of the runway works of the Gustavo Rojas Pinilla airport -, who carried out the repair works of the main entrance to the sector.

Thanks to the management done by Governor Ronald Housni to the multinational company, around five hundred families will benefit with this work allowing transportation entry in this rainy season to the inside of the neighborhood where access to the houses were difficult.

The discussion led by the Ministry of Interior on the importance of the Plebiscite and the Final Agreement for the termination of the armed conflict and the construction of a stable and lasting peace was successful.  

Media, community leaders and people interested in knowing details of the negotiation process with the FARC guerillas and the concluded agreements with the guerilla attended the meeting. In general, advisors of the Ministry did an historical overview of the conflict and actions which led to the agreements Colombians should approve through the polls on 2 October.

•    Eight choirs will participate for the first time.

The Choir Encounter has taken place in the island since 1974 aiming to promote and preserve religious music through choral groups and encourage this art among young people and children.
 
In its 35th version, the departmental choirs will delight tourist and residents at the chosen religious centers. The encounter has the support of the Ministry of Culture through the Programa Nacional de Concertación and the Departmental Secretariat of Culture. Don’ miss it!

Por ello, delegados del Ministerio de Salud, los secretarios de Servicios Públicos y Medio Ambiente, así como el de salud, Coralina y otras entidades asistieron al Consejo Territorial de Salud Ambiental, COTSA, para su conformación y la creación de distintas mesas técnicas.

El objetivo principal de este Consejo Territorial de Salud Ambiental es avanzar de manera articulada en cada una de las temáticas ambientales con el fin de mejorar las condiciones de la calidad de vida de los habitantes del archipiélago.
